How to set up Buska + n8n

1

Create an n8n webhook node

In n8n, add a Webhook node to a new workflow. Choose HTTP method POST and copy the webhook URL (use the production URL for live data, or the test URL while building). The Webhook node acts as the trigger for the entire automation, firing every time Buska detects a qualifying signal.

2

Connect in Buska

Paste the n8n webhook URL in Buska Settings > Integrations > Webhook. The connection is instant, with no engineering required. The request is a plain JSON POST, not signed, so treat the webhook URL itself as the secret.

3

Build your workflow

Add n8n nodes to process the Buska lead: Filter by intent score or platform, Transform with Set or Code nodes, Enrich with Apollo / Clearbit / HubSpot lookups, Route to CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive), Send notifications (Slack, Discord, email, SMS). Use n8n Code nodes for any custom logic.

Use AI nodes for enrichment

Drop in n8n AI nodes to process each Buska signal with your own LLM: score the lead with custom criteria, classify by buying intent type, draft a personalized reply in your brand voice, or summarize the social thread for your sales team. OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Mistral, and self-hosted models are all supported.

Configure filters at the Buska level

Even though n8n can filter, it is more efficient to filter at the Buska level so you only pay for n8n execution credits on real leads. Set your minimum intent score (most teams use 70 out of 100), choose your platforms, keywords, and languages. Buska filters out most of the irrelevant mentions before they ever hit your n8n workflow.

Deploy and monitor

Activate your n8n workflow. All qualifying Buska leads trigger your automation right after each scan. Monitor executions in n8n's interface, with detailed logs of every step. Self-hosted n8n also supports Prometheus metrics export for observability with Grafana or Datadog.

Real use cases with n8n

Privacy-first lead pipeline

For teams in regulated industries (fintech, legal, government) with strict data policies, n8n keeps lead processing on your own servers once it leaves Buska. Buska sends the public social post via webhook; n8n does everything else inside your own infrastructure. Buska itself does not make a HIPAA-compliance claim, so check your own requirements before using it for a use case that needs one.

Custom AI enrichment with your own LLM

Use n8n's AI nodes to process social lead content with your own LLM (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Mistral, Llama 3.1, Qwen). Generate custom insights, draft personalized replies in your brand voice, classify leads with your own fine-tuned model, or summarize the Reddit thread for your sales team. Token cost runs $0.0001 to $0.01 per lead depending on model.

Multi-CRM sync

n8n routes each Buska lead to multiple CRMs in parallel: HubSpot for sales, Notion for product feedback tracking, Airtable for the marketing team's view, and Snowflake for the analytics warehouse. One Buska signal, 5 destinations, zero copy-paste.

Custom scoring overlay

Apply your own lead scoring logic in n8n on top of Buska's intent score. Combine with company size, tech stack, funding stage, employee count, previous CRM activity, website visits. The composite score drives routing, prioritization, and owner assignment.

Frequently asked questions about Buska + n8n

Do I need to self-host n8n to use Buska?
No. You can use n8n Cloud (hosted by n8n at $20 to $50 per month) or self-host the open-source n8n Community Edition. Both work identically with Buska's webhook integration. Self-hosting is recommended for regulated industries or enterprise data governance requirements; n8n Cloud is faster to start for SMBs.
Is n8n free for Buska users?
Yes. n8n Community Edition is free and open-source for self-hosting under the Sustainable Use License. n8n Cloud has a free tier (5,000 executions per month) and paid tiers at $20 to $50 per month. Buska integrates with both at no extra cost on the Buska side, and the Buska Webhook integration is included on every plan starting at $49 per month.
How is n8n different from Make or Zapier?
n8n is open-source and self-hostable, which Make and Zapier are not. n8n Code nodes let you write arbitrary JavaScript or Python, far more flexible than Make scenarios or Zaps. n8n also has 400+ pre-built nodes vs Make's 1,800+ and Zapier's 6,000+, but the code escape hatch in n8n means you can integrate anything with an API.
How fast does Buska deliver webhooks to n8n?
Buska scans on a schedule, not in real time: once a day on Starter, every 3 hours on Growth, every hour on Scale, between 6am and 8pm Paris time. As soon as a scan finds a lead, the alert is sent to your channel right away.
Is the Buska n8n integration secure?
Buska's webhook request is not signed today, so treat the webhook URL as the secret. Once it reaches your n8n instance, self-hosted n8n runs entirely on your infrastructure, so no Buska data leaves your network after that initial delivery.
Can I use Buska + n8n for GDPR-strict EU customers?
Buska's own detection only reads public posts, which is GDPR-compliant under the legitimate interest basis. Self-hosted n8n in the EU lets you keep everything downstream of the webhook on your own infrastructure. Buska does not currently offer an EU-only data residency option on its own side, and does not make HIPAA-compliance claims.
How much does the Buska n8n integration cost?
The Buska n8n integration is included on every plan at no extra cost (uses the Webhook integration internally). Buska plans start at $49 per month (Starter, 5 signals), $99 per month (Growth, 15 signals), and $249 per month (Scale, 30 signals). n8n is free self-hosted or $20 to $50 per month on n8n Cloud. All Buska plans include a 7-day free trial.
