Catch buyers switching from your competitors
Some of the easiest deals to close are people who already pay for a competitor and are publicly unhappy about it. This skill turns your AI agent into a switch watcher: it pulls Buska's COMPETITOR signals, sweeps competitor names across Reddit, X, LinkedIn and G2, qualifies who is genuinely ready to move, and hands you a soft outreach angle for each one.
get_signalssearch_mentionsscore_lead1What you need before starting
A Buska account with your signals configured, including your main competitors' names as keywords, and the Buska MCP server connected to your agent. The connection uses OAuth and works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client; setup takes a few minutes and is documented at buska.io/docs/mcp-server/setup. The 7-day free trial requires no card, so you can test the full loop before paying.
2The agent pulls qualified switch signals
First call: get_signals with intent set to COMPETITOR, a minScore of 6 or higher, and a since date covering the last week. This returns the buying signals Buska's engine has already detected and scored across the 30+ platforms it monitors for your keywords, each with the AI's reasoning attached. The qualification work is already done before your agent even starts.
3It sweeps competitor names live
Next, the agent calls search_mentions for each competitor name on reddit, twitter, linkedin and g2, the platforms where switching frustration shows up most. It looks for complaint language, cancellation talk and 'alternative to' questions in the returned posts, which come with content, author, URL and engagement metrics. This catches fresh conversations, including ones outside your configured signals.
4It qualifies the real switchers
Plenty of complaints are just venting. The agent runs score_lead on the promising posts to score buying intent and fit with your ICP, then drops the vents and keeps the people actually shopping. For each keeper it drafts a soft outreach angle that references the person's specific complaint instead of a generic pitch.
5Your switcher watchlist
A short list of people showing real switching intent: author, platform, link to the original post, what they are unhappy about, the score, and a suggested opening line. You review and reply yourself, or refine the drafts in Buska's Reply Studio and track each conversation on the lead kanban. Nothing is sent without you.
The prompt to paste into your agent
Copy it into Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client connected to Buska.
You are my competitor-switch scout. My product is [your product, one line]. My competitors: [Competitor A], [Competitor B].
1. Call get_signals with intent=COMPETITOR, minScore=6, since=<ISO date, 7 days ago>, limit=50.
2. For each competitor, call search_mentions with the competitor name on platform=reddit, then twitter, linkedin and g2, limit=25 each. Flag complaints, cancellation talk and "alternative to" questions.
3. Deduplicate against step 1, then call score_lead on the 10 most promising posts to check buying intent and ICP fit.
4. Give me a table: author, platform, URL, what they are unhappy about, score, plus a one-sentence soft outreach angle referencing their exact complaint.
Do not contact anyone. I review everything before it goes out.Related documentation
Frequently asked questions
Does the agent contact these people or post replies for me?
No. Buska never posts to social networks on your behalf, and this skill only produces drafts and angles for you to review. The one exception in the product is the AI SDR agent on the Scale plan, which sends email outreach from your own inbox, and only after your approval.
Do I need a paid plan to try this?
No. The 7-day free trial requires no card and includes the MCP connection, so you can run the full skill against your own market first. Paid plans start at $49/mo (Starter) if you want to keep it running.
Does Buska push new switch signals to my agent in real time?
No. Agents pull data through MCP: your agent fetches signals when you run it, so schedule this skill daily or weekly, or trigger it on demand. Buska itself monitors your signals continuously, and you can add Slack or webhook notifications if you also want alerts inside your workflow.
