Reddit Keyword Alerts & Monitoring Tool: Find Customers on Reddit

Reddit keyword alerts tell you when a word appears in a new post; a Reddit monitoring tool goes further and judges which of those posts are actual buyers. Buska is both: you describe what you sell, Buska turns it into buying signals (the phrases a buyer would actually write, such as "alternative to [competitor]" or "looking for a tool that..."), searches new Reddit posts in the subreddits where your buyers talk, and gives each post an intent score from 0 to 100 with a short reason. Qualified leads land in your dashboard and can go to Slack, Discord, a webhook or your CRM. Reddit is included in every plan and in the 7-day free trial (no credit card). Plans start at $49 per month for 5 signals.

Why keyword alerts alone do not find customers on Reddit

Every day, potential customers express their needs on Reddit. Here’s why that matters for your pipeline.

Most keyword matches are not buyers

A keyword like "CRM" matches memes, job posts, rants and people showing off what they built. Finding mentions is easy; finding the few posts written by someone about to buy is the hard part. Buska reads each post and scores it for buying intent, so you review a short ranked list instead of an inbox full of alerts.

Buyers describe a problem before they name a category

People on Reddit write "our invoices live in five spreadsheets" long before they type "invoicing software". Buska's signals are written in the buyer's voice, not as brand keywords, so they catch the posts a plain keyword alert never matches.

The subreddit changes what a post means

The same query means different things in r/SaaS and in r/gaming. Buska routes each search to the on-topic subreddits for your market, picked from a curated map of B2B communities, and only falls back to a Reddit-wide search when it has no topic context for your business.

Example: how Buska monitors Reddit for a PR software company

This walk-through shows the actual steps Buska runs for one kind of team, a company that sells PR software. It describes how the product works; it is not a customer case study, and the phrases quoted are examples.

  1. 1. From the website to buying signals

At setup, Buska reads the company website and proposes signals written the way a buyer would post them, for example "looking for a cheaper alternative to Cision" or "how do small agencies find journalist contacts". You can edit, delete or add signals. Each signal becomes several Reddit search queries.

  2. 2. Routing to the right subreddits

Buska matches the company's industry and buyer roles against its subreddit map and searches inside the on-topic cluster, here communities like r/PublicRelations, r/journalism and r/PRcareers, instead of generic mega-subreddits or unrelated ones where the same words mean something else.

  3. 3. Freshness filter and intent scoring

Posts older than 90 days are dropped and recent posts rank higher. Each remaining post is read by an AI model that decides whether the author is actually looking for a solution, then gets a 0 to 100 score and a one-line reason. Posts without a reliable date never reach the top tier.

  4. 4. Delivery where the team works

Each lead shows the post date, the subreddit and a link to the thread. The team gets a Slack or Discord notification, can push leads to HubSpot, Pipedrive or Google Sheets with an automation, and on Growth and above can draft a reply in Reply Studio before answering on Reddit themselves.

Scan frequency depends on the plan: once a day on the free trial and Starter, every 3 hours on Growth, every hour on Scale.

How to generate leads on Reddit with Buska

No manual searching. No scrolling. Buska does the heavy lifting so your team focuses on closing.

1

Describe what you sell

Enter your website. Buska analyzes it and drafts your ideal customer profile and a first set of buying signals in the buyer's voice. Nothing to configure by hand to get a first result.

2

Review your Reddit signals

Keep, edit or add signals such as "alternative to [competitor]", "looking for a tool to [job]" or a pain your product removes. Each plan includes a number of signals (5, 15 or 30), and each one runs as several Reddit searches.

3

Buska searches Reddit on a schedule

New posts are searched in the subreddits that match your market, deduplicated, filtered for freshness and scored for buying intent. Scans run daily on Starter, every 3 hours on Growth and hourly on Scale.

4

Act on scored leads

Open the thread from your dashboard, get notified in Slack or Discord, push leads to your CRM with an automation, and reply on Reddit yourself with the context in front of you.

Buska vs manual Reddit search, F5Bot and Syften

All four can tell you when a word appears on Reddit. The difference is what happens next: who reads the posts, how they are ranked and where they go. Competitor prices were read on their public pricing pages on 1 September 2026.

Cheaper Reddit monitors exist too: RedditMentions (from 4.49 EUR/month, alerts without AI scoring) and ParseStream (from $16/month, several platforms with intent scoring), prices checked on 24 September 2026. RedShip, a newer Reddit-only alert tool, prices Founder at $29/month and Company at $49/month (both billed yearly) with its own relevance scoring on each post (checked 7 October 2026). If you only need alerts on a few brand names, a cheaper tool can be enough.

What users say about keyword-only alerts

“I tried using F5bot, but its not efficient, I end up going through like 40–50 posts and maybe 2 or 3 are actually relevant.”

“F5Bot/Syften to monitor Reddit keywords → get an alert → manually find the thread → write a reply from scratch”

Why teams use Buska for Reddit lead generation

Fresh threads, with their date

Every Reddit lead keeps its original post date. Posts older than 90 days are dropped and recent ones rank higher, so you spend your time on threads where a reply can still be read.

Reddit and the rest in one list

The same signals also run on the other sources in your plan (X, LinkedIn, Hacker News, Quora and more), so a buyer who asks on Reddit and on LinkedIn shows up in one dashboard instead of three tools.

From thread to pipeline

Automations push qualified Reddit leads to HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Google Sheets or a webhook. On Growth and above, Reply Studio drafts a reply from the thread's context that you edit and post yourself.

Built for sales, not just brand tracking

Most Reddit tools were built to count mentions and measure sentiment. Buska scores each post for purchase intent and matches it to your ICP, so a rep opens a short ranked list instead of researching every match by hand.

Reddit monitoring pricing

Reddit is included in every plan and in the 7-day free trial. Plans are priced by signals: one signal is one buying situation you want to catch, such as "looking for an alternative to [competitor]", and Buska runs each signal as several Reddit searches.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Reddit keyword monitoring tool?

It depends on what you do with the results. F5Bot is the cheapest way to get email alerts on a few keywords. Syften adds filter rules and more communities. Buska is built for lead generation: it searches Reddit with buying signals, scores every post from 0 to 100 for purchase intent, and sends qualified leads to Slack, Discord or your CRM. If you need alerts only, a cheaper tool is enough; if you need to know which posts are buyers, pick a tool that scores intent.

How do I find customers on Reddit with Buska?

Sign up, enter your website, and review the buying signals Buska drafts for you (for example "alternative to [competitor]" or a pain your product removes). Buska then searches new Reddit posts in the subreddits that match your market, scores each one, and lists the likely buyers with a link to the thread. For the manual method (which subreddits to watch, which phrases work, how to reply without being flagged as spam), read our Reddit social listening guide.

Is Buska a Reddit lead generation tool or a social listening tool?

Both, with a lead generation focus. Classic social listening tools count mentions and sentiment for a brand. Buska looks for people who are about to buy something in your category, scores them, and hands them to your sales workflow. Brand and competitor mentions can be tracked too, but they are not the main use case.

What is a Reddit social listening tool, and is Buska one?

"Reddit social listening tool" and "Reddit listening tool" both describe software that watches Reddit for a brand, product, or topic. Buska covers that, plus the harder part: every matching post gets a 0 to 100 buying-intent score and a routed search in the subreddits that match your market, instead of a flat feed of every mention.

Can I choose which subreddits Buska monitors?

You steer Buska through your signals and your ideal customer profile, and Buska picks the on-topic subreddits for your market automatically from its curated map of B2B communities. If a subreddit keeps sending you irrelevant posts, it can be muted for your team: ask support and it is set on your account.

Does Buska monitor Reddit comments or only posts?

Buska searches new Reddit posts (title and text). Replies inside threads are not part of the default scan today. Every lead links to the full thread, so you can read the replies before you answer.

How fresh are the Reddit leads?

Scans run once a day on the free trial and Starter, every 3 hours on Growth and every hour on Scale. Every lead keeps its original post date, posts older than 90 days are dropped, and newer posts rank higher.

How much does Reddit monitoring cost with Buska?

Reddit is included in every plan. Starter is $49/month with 5 signals, Growth $99/month with 15 signals, Scale $249/month with 30 signals, and yearly billing costs 10 months instead of 12. The 7-day free trial includes Reddit and does not ask for a credit card.

How is Buska different from F5Bot or Syften?

F5Bot and Syften send you every post that matches your keywords or rules, and you decide which ones matter. Buska reads each post and scores it for buying intent, routes searches to the subreddits that match your market, covers other platforms with the same signals, and pushes qualified leads to your CRM. F5Bot and Syften are cheaper; Buska saves the triage time.

Can I send Reddit leads to Slack or my CRM?

Yes. Slack and Discord notifications are available on every plan. Automations push leads to HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, lemlist and others (1 automation on Starter, 5 on Growth, unlimited on Scale), and webhooks are available from Growth.

Does Buska need my Reddit account or post for me?

No. Buska reads public Reddit posts only. It never asks for your Reddit login and never posts or comments on your behalf: you decide whether and how to reply.

Can I use Buska's Reddit leads without breaking Reddit's rules?

Yes, if you reply like a person, not a vendor. Buska only surfaces the thread and a score; what you post is up to you. The rule of thumb: add real value first, disclose that you work for the product when it comes up, and never post the same pitch twice. For the full etiquette (karma gates, the 9:1 ratio, subreddit-specific rules), see our Reddit social listening guide.

How much of Reddit actually carries buying intent?

Not much per post, which is exactly why scoring matters more than raw alerts. In Buska's study of 451,903 public posts over 60 days, only 1.4% were tagged HOT (strong buying intent) and 5.4% WARM. Reddit alone supplied 69.2% of every post in the study and 77.0% of the HOT ones, at a HOT rate of 1.57%. LinkedIn was denser per post (2.55% HOT) but on a far smaller volume: 3,492 posts against 312,703 on Reddit in the same sample. The practical takeaway: Reddit is the biggest source of buying signals by volume, but finding the 1.57% that matter without AI scoring means reading through dozens of posts for every real lead.
