Language & country targeting

Buska gives you two independent controls to focus on the right audience: the LANGUAGE a post is written in, and the COUNTRY the author operates from. They are separate on purpose. A business in Switzerland writes in German; an English-speaking company can be Australia-only. Use one, the other, or both together.

Target language (per signal)

Set the language on each signal to only keep posts written in that language. Ideal when your buyers post in a specific language regardless of borders (e.g. German across Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

  1. Go to the Signals page in your dashboard
  2. Click a signal to edit it
  3. Under Target language, pick the language (English, French, German, Dutch, and more) or leave All languages
  4. Click Save. The change applies on the next scan

Target countries (whole workspace)

Set your target markets when your business only serves customers in specific countries. Buska then steers its search toward those countries and drops leads whose author is clearly located elsewhere. Keywords stay in their own language, so you may still see a mix of languages from people in those countries.

  1. Go to the Company page in your dashboard
  2. Find Target markets (countries) under the company profile
  3. Add up to 4 countries, or leave All countries to search worldwide
  4. Click Save. The next scan refreshes your search for those markets

Which one should I use?

  • Only a language matters (e.g. reach German speakers anywhere): set the target language on your signals.
  • Only a country matters (e.g. you deliver a local service in one country): set the target markets on the Company page.
  • Both (e.g. German speakers in the DACH region): set the language on your signals AND add Germany, Austria and Switzerland as target markets. This is the tightest setup.
Country targeting never guesses a location from language alone: a post is only dropped when the author's own country is clearly stated and different from your markets. Posts with no location cue are kept, so real local buyers are never lost.

Frequently asked questions

How do I limit my search to German-speaking countries (DACH)?
Set the target language to German on your signals to keep German-written posts, and add Germany, Austria and Switzerland as target markets on the Company page. Using both gives you German speakers located in the DACH region.
Where do I change the language of a signal?
Open the Signals page, click a signal to edit it, and pick a language under 'Target language'. The change applies on the next scan.
What is the difference between language and target countries?
Language filters posts by the language they are written in (per signal). Target countries steer the whole workspace toward specific markets and drop authors clearly located elsewhere. They are independent and can be combined.
Will country targeting drop leads that don't mention their location?
No. A lead is only dropped when the author's own country is clearly stated and different from your target markets. Posts with no location cue are always kept.
